VoiceVault Launches Developer Program for Smartphone Applications

2010 September 8

In an effort to create greater awareness and experience among the mobile application developer community, voice biometric technology specialist VoiceVault has launched a new “Smartphone Developer Program”, which provides access to a development environment based on the VoiceVault Enterprise technology platform. The resource, which is running in the Amazon Web Services cloud, provides both a RESTful environment for developers to become acquainted with VoiceVault’s resources for enrollment and smartphone-based user authentication, as well as electronic signatures.

Developers also have access to a set of sample applications that showcase the value of voice authentication to augment existing key-entered PINs or passwords or how the company’s VoiceSign signature technology can be used as part of a phone-based approval process. The tools support application development for Android-based phones, iPhones and RIM Blackberries. Initially applications will rely on a 3G or WiFi connection, but support of smartphones in an unconnected state is coming soon.

VoiceVault has a chance to harness the energy of a large and growing community of application developers. More importantly, it is helping to raise awareness of voice authentication as a reliable way to authenticate individual mobile subscribers, which is becoming increasingly important as they use their devices as personal data stores, electronic wallets or mobile portals into enterprise IT.
